PressureIslands is a startup materials company, introducing a new concept of inflated, rigid composites.

Made of fibres, membranes and foams, these composites dispense with the traditional laminate structure, instead achieving strength through fibres stitched through the foam core, and are inflated in situ.

The resultant composites are rigid, offer exceptional shear resistance, are highly resistant to delamination, and are rigid and robust to perforation damage, water and air ingress.

We see applications in marine sports, in furniture, in manufacturing, in civil engineering, in aerospace, and in numerous other markets.
